The Max Adventure team have finally reached the finish point after recreating the drive that their patron Stirling Moss undertook back in 1952. The clock stopped at 1107 Central European Time on Friday 16th October at the Portuguese border town of Villa Formoso, a time of 89 hours and 7 minutes.

Day 4

Stirling's 3,280 mile drive around Europe was a publicity event to promote the launch of the new Humber Super Snipe saloon car. Starting in Oslo, Norway his four man crew actually visited 16 countries in total but did not count visiting the tiny alpine principality of Lichtenstein in their total tally.

Realising that motoring journalists liked to be wined and dined by car manufacturers (even back in the early fifties), the boss of the Humber car group arranged for the car to then be driven to Lisbon for a welcoming reception.

The Max Adventure team are now on their way to the main Land Rover dealer in the city where the two vehicles and six-man crew will be greeted by the staff there.
