Having been prepared thoroughly for painting the last time around, the car has now come back to Maxted-Page & Prill looking immaculate. The long task of rebuilding the car in time for testing in May has begun in earnest, begining with the gearbox and brakes, including new brake linnings. New, and original (and very expensive), drum brakes, are ready to fit, with the RS ready sit on new Dunlop classic racing rubber once the wheels go back on.
The rear chassis needs attention, particularily the suspension arms and wishbones, which suffered from poorly engineered modifications when the car was raced in the United States on wider tyres than were intended. The rear bulk head wall also needs tiding up, again showing signs of years of poorly thought out and excuted repairs, and then repainting before the engine bay can be re-plumbed. The road to Le Mans is looming fast!
