Stirling is well known for his love of gadgets, being a daily user of a mobile phone, a laptop, Sky+, keyless entry to his house and a range of other devices. He would be the first to admit that he only understands the basics of the technology he uses, which in his eyes, caters primarily for a younger market, both in terms of applications and its explanation, even though there is a demand from the older generation to use technology on their terms and in a way that is explained in an easily understood format.
BBC Click’s Richard Taylor meets Stirling and asks how the fast-moving technology industry can adapt its devices for the older generation, which for Stirling begins with his new mobile phone aimed squarely at the older generation, being easy and self explanatory to use and without unecessary applications, yet still stylish and compact.
