A few weeks ago while Stirling was still bed bound recovering from his broken ankles and foot following his accident, Lotus Cars and Clive Chapman, son of Colin Chapman, the founder of Lotus Cars and Team Lotus, visited his London home.

To mark 50 years since Stirling’s Grand Prix victory at Monaco in 1960, the first Grand Prix win for Colin Chapman and Lotus, automotive historian Johnny Tipler talked to Clive, director of Classic Team Lotus and Stirling. Lotus and Clive also presented Stirling with a memento of that first win. Enjoy this fascinating video as both Stirling and Clive, on behalf of his father, recount their memories of that first Lotus Formula 1 win.

Since this video was filmed you will pleased to know that Stirling is now mobile and building his leg muscle and fitness back up, he will be out racing again in the summer in his OSCA.
