Phil Packer MBE is giving his support to Chelsea AutoLegends as Patron to the capital city's exciting new race and supercar showcase to be staged at the Royal Hospital Chelsea on Sunday 5 September.

Phil who has become an inspiration to millions following his numerous physical challenges to support charities and to enthuse Young People, will provide a tremendous link between the country’s Inspirational Drivers and the Royal Hospital Chelsea. Now retired from the Armed Forces, Phil is dedicating his life to supporting Young People facing Adversity and continues to embark on a quest to provide opportunities for others. His role as Patron marks his official involvement with British Motor Sport and it is anticipated that he will become involved with galvanising organisations and associations to support Young People across the country.

Stirling, who will open the inaugural Chelsea AutoLegends, said: “Phil’s involvement will provide an integral link to Young People facing Adversity who are keen to become involved in Motor Sport and to have the opportunity to drive. Phil is becoming an iconic figure for so many and has the determination and passion to fuse together the goodwill of many and direct it towards those that need support and inspiration. He is a friend of many within the world of Motor Sport and I wholeheartedly stand by him.”

Phil said: “Having received support from The Royal Hospital Chelsea during my London Marathons, it is a pleasure to be able to give my support to our remarkable In-Pensioners and this bastion of care and tradition. I have received terrific support from many areas of British Motor Sport during my endeavours and I am looking forward to working closely with all areas of Motor Sport and the Motor Industry in the future. It is a privilege to be the Patron of Chelsea Auto Legends and support such a prestigious event.”
