Sir Stirling will be the guest of honour at the 30th Lime Rock Historic Festival, to be held across the Labor Day weekend, from the 31st August – 3rd September 2012.
The 30th annual Lime Rock Historics will see Stirling participate in a question and answer session, with the audience able to ask questions, at the Friday evening Participants Gala. He will also be available at various times throughout the weekend for autograph sessions.
In addition he will join the judging ranks for the Sunday in the Park Concours on 2nd September. Plans are also afoot to bring examples of the cars he raced, to some of his greatest victories, for display and demonstration laps.
Lime Rock is unique in the United States for holding three days of on-track racing, along with a prestigious concours event, at the same venue. The Lime Rock Historic Festival, run since 1983, has become to be regarded as the leading vintage racing event on the East Coast, in tandem with its companion, the Sunday in the Park Concours.
With its famous free paddock access for all fans, the 30th Historic Festival will be a feast for the senses. More than 300 vintage race cars will fill the grounds, the Swap Meet in the Sunoco B paddock will be packed, the Midway is always alive with activities, the racing on the track is non-stop throughout the day on Saturday and Monday and of course Sir Stirling Moss will be there!
