Following hot on the heals of the recent Scalextric 722 Box Set, the shop has a limited number of the superb Cartrix BRM P25 1/32 scale slot cars for sale, signed and unsigned, which can be used on Scalextric track or similar. The number 6 car was driven by Stirling to 2nd place at the 1959 British Grand Prix at Aintree finishing behind Jack Brabham in a Cooper-Climax.

The BRM P25 is probably best known for the evocative image of Stirling which captured him pushing the car across the finish line following a spin at the 1959 French Grand Prix at Reims, see images above. In his own words "After the unfortunate spin at Reims, I was looking forward to trying the P25 at Aintree, where I had guarded hopes that I might do reasonably well". His hopes were well founded in practice he set the quickest time of 2 mins 8.4 secs ahead of Carroll Shelby in the Aston Martin, 2 mins 9.2 secs and Jack Brabham in the Cooper-Climax, 2 mins 9.4 secs.

Qualifying on the Friday produced a different story, a slipping clutch saw him qualify an eventual 7th on the grid with Brabham on pole by a full second from Roy Salvadori and Harry Schell in third in another BRM P25. "I made a good start but lost a bit of ground on the opening lap as the damned clutch slipped again" recalls Stirling. After 10 laps Stirling had moved into second place behind Brabham, driving the BRM on the limit to reduce the lead to 9 seconds. The hard driving forced a pit stop for worn tyres followed by splash and dash stop not long after to top uo with fuel due to fuel-feed problem. "By the chequered flag, though, I was back up to second place, just ahead of Bruce McLaren's Cooper", finishing second behing Jack Brabham in the Cooper.

2nd at the 1959 British Grand Prix was the best result that the BRM achieved in Stirling's hands, although a BRM P25 did go onto to win the Swedish Grand Prix with Bonnier at the wheel.
