Stirling with the 1954 Tojeiro-MG

Stirling pictured with the Tojeiro-MG, a  car he raced at the British Empire Trophy in 1954 at Oulton Park. The car was originally called the Leonard-MG, made by a friend of the Moss family Lionel Leonard, before being sold to Cliff Davies, who rebuilt it around a Tojeiro chassis. Later AC bought the Tojeiro design, with the body designed by Leonard, as the basis of the Ace sports car. This would eventually become the legendary Shelby American Cobra.

Image was taken a Ellenborough Park Hotel, www.ellenboroughpark.com, following an event at the nearby Prescott Hill.
