2018 Motor Racing Legends Calendar Announced featuring the Stirling Moss Trophy

Motor Racing Legends has unveiled an exciting 2018 racing calendar which will be focused on the major international classic events and topped by visiting Thruxton in June to celebrate the Hampshire circuit’s 50th Anniversary.

The five premier racing series which come under the highly respected Motor Racing Legends banner include the Historic Touring Car Challenge, Tony Dron Trophy, Pre-War Sports Car Series along with the highly competitive Stirling Moss Trophy for pre-’61 Sports Racing cars and, the Royal Automobile Club Woodcote Trophy for original pre-’56 Sports cars.

The season starts at the Donington Historic Festival on May 4-6 and all five series get the opportunity to race at this premier international historic meeting.
Changes to the calendar include a visit to the Thruxton 50th Anniversary Celebration on June 2-3rd for the Royal Automobile Club Woodcote Trophy and Stirling Moss Trophy and the Historic Touring Car Challenge incorporating the Tony Dron Trophy.

The Historic Touring Car Challenge and Tony Dron Trophy also make a return to the Silverstone Classic on July 20-22, a repeat of the hugely popular 2016 race which saw a packed grid take to the Historic Grand Prix circuit and we also return to the Oulton Park Gold Cup on August 27th

The Spa Six Hour meeting in September 14-16 will feature a combined Stirling Moss Trophy and Woodcote Trophy grid and we are delighted that the Pre-War Sports Cars will return to the Ardennes for the first time since 2009!

Motor Racing Legends Chairman Duncan Wiltshire commented “We are excited about our inaugural visit to Thruxton in the summer to help them celebrate this milestone anniversary and I am thrilled to announce the Pre-War Sports Cars will race at Spa Francorchamps as part of the Spa Six Hour event in 2018. I do hope all our Pre-War Sports Car competitors will be able to come out and support this fantastic opportunity.”

All our grids will be out in force at the Donington Historic Festival and I am delighted to see the HTCC return to Silverstone Classic.”
